DJ Fog
Pushing new sounds and maintaining a soulful vibe has always been the musical core for DJ Fog. At the advent of Denver's rave scene, Fog began providing lighting and stage design for some of the early production companies who pioneered the Mile High Massive such as The Energy Posse, POOR BOY PRODUCTIONS, and The Messiah. In late 92, he purchased turntables and began exploring the sounds of Acid Jazz and hardcore UK breakbeat (later morphing into Jungle). Since then he has pioneered or been involved with numerous Club nights including, '3 count jazz', 'So what', 'Pressure', and 'Soul Elements'. PRESSURE Thursdays at The Snake Pit was Denver's first successful Jungle weekly launched in August 1997 by Aztec, Fog and K-Nee. The Pressure Crew pioneered the Jungle sound for the 21 and up crowd in Denver. Purely focused on the music, Pressure featured a 360 degree view of Drum & Bass. Mile high jungle headz were consistently exposed to the most groundbreaking sounds of the movement including bpms from 80 to 175 and styles ranging from tech step to jump up to intelligent to jazzy....no limitations. Throughout his career DJ Fog has been involved with or spun along side such DJ's as JEANNIE HOPPER, CUT CHEMIST, UNITED FUTURE ORGANIZATION, OZOMATLI, Q.BERT, PEANUT BUTTER WOLF, SWINGSETT, TOM THUMP, MARK FARINA and GREYBOY. Fog currently spins regularly with United Dope Front along side DJ Timbuk and has recently co founded Sub:hub productions. He specializes in the following sounds: Broken Beat | Future Jazz | Hip-Hop | Drum & Bass | Neo-Soul | 2 Step | Downtempo | Afrobeat | Dub | Dancehall.
