Jarad
Astin Hammond Organ/Piano
Jarad Astin is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of the Performing
Arts ('98), where he studied closely with Edward Simon (Kevin
Eubanks, Bobby Watson, Paquito D’Rivera, and Terence
Blanchard), and legendary organist Trudy Pitts (Pat Martino). He has recently
relocated to Brooklyn, NY and where he cohort Ben Senterfit
have opened up the east coast region of CueZone Records.
In Colorado, he worked with many musicians including Bijou
Barbosa, Tony Black, Jon Zangrando, David Petry, Bob Mulligan,
& Kiwin Brown. He has released two solo projects with
his trio. The most recent, "Red, Back & Blue" - which includes Bassist Kirwin Brown, and Drummer Bob Mulligan
- showcases Astin's transcendent ability and soul as well
as his depth as a composer. Besides the two outstanding
releases with the Trio, Jarad has recorded and produced
extensively with such groups as Edwin Vasquez, The United Dope Front, The Dirty Boogaloo, & Jubal.
